If there is one thing we know about Tommy Castellanos, it's that he's going to say exactly what he feels. It might not make some people happy, but it's who he is and we should all appreciate his honesty.

Castellanos appeared on the Gramlich and Mac Lain podcast to talk about Friday's loss to Virginia and how the Seminoles can right the ship this Saturday against Miami. And, as always, the Seminoles quarterback kept it real.

TC on Virginia loss: "A good, humbling moment"

The more we look back on the Virginia game, the more it's clear that FSU put up a serious egg. There were two turnovers on offense that led to points. One of those turnovers was in the red zone. There was another turnover on downs at the Virginia 22 and a missed field goal. That's four empty possessions in a game where the opponent was matching score for score. It's safe to say that the Seminoles left at least 10 points on the board, maybe as many as 17.

Castellanos acknowledges the shortcomings of the team and believes everyone associated with FSU can grow from this.

"It's a good humbling moment that I think we needed to lock back in and go to work and just focus on the work. I think from this point on, we can't play as bad as we did ever again," Castellanos said. "I think we know that we'll never play that bad again. Just to go ahead and get that out of the way, just put our heads down and go back to work. Be the villain again and go back to being the underdog again and playing with that mindset again."

FSU played two soft touches after the Alabama win, and sometimes it's hard to spot certain weaknesses because the opposition is so weak. Some complacency sets in and players can get away with bad habits that will be exposed against better competition.

The good news is that it is conference play from here on in until the Florida game. FSU knows they can't afford any more stumbles and remain a legitimate contender for the playoffs.
