Florida State landed Indiana running back/kickoff returner Jaylin Lucas this offseason. The Seminole fan base heard about Lucas in the preseason where they were told about his elite speed.

Lucas is the younger brother of wide receiver JaKhi Douglas. He already had a connection with the program to a degree. The Indiana standout is small in terms of frame but super shifty. The Seminoles' offense needs playmakers after losing crucial pieces in 2023.

In the preseason, Norvell talked about Lucas being a major contributor in 2024 because of his speed. However, he barely used in the season opener versus Georgia Tech, where he stated in the press conference that they needed to utilize him more for the remainder of the season.

However, the bad luck continued as Lucas suffered a season-ending injury in their next game versus Boston College. He is expected to fully recover, but we have to see how the Seminoles have to use him in 2025 as he is coming off that injury.
