FSU GRABBED A TALENTED PROSPECT IN THE 2025 CYCLE
I realize that Florida State football did not have the 2024 season that it wanted, as it limped to the finish line with a 2-10 record. This was not the expectation of a program that is used to competing for conference and national championships.
However, head football coach Mike Norvell knew that changes needed to be made quickly so that Florida State could return to national relevance, so he decided to add new coaches as well as new players (via recruiting ranks and transfer portal).
The new coaching changes allowed the Seminoles' 2025 recruiting class to blossom into something special with some incredibly talented prospects. One of those that fans need to monitor is former four-star wide receiver Tae'shaun Gelsey from Riverside High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
UF FANS WERE NOT ENTERTAINED BY GELSEY
Gelsey had been committed to the arch-rival Florida Gators from June 2024 to December 2024, but the Seminoles were able to get the talented playmaker to sign on the dotted line during the Early Signing Period.
Video surfaced of the pass catcher training in a workout with Global Elite Training, but it seems like Gator fans are still angry about Gelsey de-committing from the program.

Yeah I’m perfectly fine with him not being a Gator LOL https://t.co/qxiMUQJ2R3

I don't know why the Jorts-wearing Gator fans are trying to dismiss the kid's talent. Florida State recruited Gelsey as a wide receiver (which he preferred), while Florida wanted him as a tight end. The 6'4" and 235-pound pass catcher could very well end up as a tight end later in his career, but he recorded 48 receptions for 859 yards and nine touchdowns during his senior year at Riverside.
Florida State doesn't need Gelsey to contribute massively in 2025 since they have weapons such as Duce Robinson, Squirrel White, Jayvan Boggs, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore (just to name a few) in the rotation. However, I don't want to count out the former four-star prospect as the coaching staff has already raved about him this preseason.
All I know is that wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr. has some talent to work with in his position room.
