FSU VS ALABAMA
Florida State football will be taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC in Doak Campbell Stadium. This will be a monumental game as the Seminoles will look to get momentum on their side after the 2-10 disaster last season.
The program is entering its sixth year under head football coach Mike Norvell. The era has been up and down as Florida State looks to find stability. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide had a 9-4 record in the first season under Kalen DeBoer.
Alabama had Jalen Milroe under center in 2024. Even though Milroe was an NFL draft pick, the offense sputtered to stay consistent at times.
IN COMES TY SIMPSON
Alabama has plenty of playmakers in the offense at the wide receiver position, such as Ryan Williams (Update: He is 18 years old in case you didn't know...), Germie Bernard, and Isaiah Horton. Even though the defense is considered a top-ten unit in all of college football, there is an unknown.
Some of their fan base is worried about the quarterback position. Veteran Ty Simpson has been in the program for three years and is entering his redshirt junior season, but he hasn't even thrown a touchdown in college football yet.
Nonetheless, CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported that Alabama is expected to name Ty Simpson as its starting quarterback. This was an expected move, given the experience of the veteran and the fact that the Crimson Tide probably didn't want to put a true freshman, Keelon Russell, out there this early.
With that said, Simpson will have to battle a Florida State football crowd in Doak Campbell Stadium that is hungry for a win and to compete for conference and national championships again. You better be prepared, Ty Simpson!
