FSU FOOTBALL SUCCESS

Florida State football fans should be extremely excited with the product that the Seminoles have produced on the field, as they defeated Alabama and East Texas A&M. Even though ten regular-season games remain, there couldn't have been a better start.

This is exactly where head football coach Mike Norvell envisioned this program to be. This squad fights for each other, works hard, and is physical as well as aggressive. The fan base had their doubts about this team, and who could blame them after the 2-10 debacle?

The future even looks bright, as there have been seventeen true freshmen taking snaps during the games this year. This doesn't even include the best prospect in the 2025 class with defensive tackle Kevin Wynn, who is recovering from an injury.

MANDRELL DESIR

The crazier aspect of it all was that the 2025 recruiting class was constructed by a coaching staff that had just arrived in Tallahassee. This was an incredible accomplishment for them, as they worked extremely hard to get the right players in the Garnet and Gold.

When the coaching staff talked to the media in the offseason, they conveyed youngsters such as quarterback Kevin Sperry, running back Ousmane Kromah, wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, tight end Chase Loftin, defensive tackle Kevin Wynn, and defensive back Shamar Arnoux.

However, the Desir Twins kept getting mentioned as defenders who have been raved about. The fan base thought that they were getting hyped up and wouldn't play much this season, or that the offensive line hadn't been blocking that well, and it was a reason for concern.

True freshman Mandrell Desir is tied for fourth of the team in tackles (6). He was a former three-star prospect out of Norland High School in Miami, Florida, and was originally committed to the UCF Knights before signing to Florida State.

Coach Norvell talks glowingly about his versatility to play both defensive tackle and defensive end. Desir is listed at 6'4" and 265 pounds. When the Seminoles released their projected depth chart versus Kent State this Saturday, the youngster was listed as the backup defensive tackle behind Daniel Lyons.

If the Miami native keeps up this same level of dedication and hard work, he could end up being a star at Florida State.
