This tight end room is something special for the Florida State Seminoles in 2025

The tight end room never gets talked about.

FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football will be playing Alabama in eight days.

Let me repeat that: The Seminoles will be playing football in EIGHT days! If that doesn't feel like Christmas morning, I don't know what will. The program's fan base wants to see consistency after having a disastrous 2-10 record last year.

BRIGHT SPOTS

It is hard to find positives in what Florida State put on the field last year, but if I had to highlight something, it would be the tight end position with Landen Thomas and Amaree Williams.

Thomas is now back from his injury, while Williams is doing his best Travis Hunter impression and appearing both at tight end and defensive end. It is important to note that the Seminoles added even more talent to the room with the acquisitions of transfer Randy Pittman Jr. and Chase Loftin.

TIGHT END OUTLOOK

This is why it gives me confidence in the Seminoles' ability to run the football effectively because they can now run two tight end sets, especially on the goal line. Florida State benefits from having Pittman Jr. since he is a veteran that is familiar with Gus Malzahn's offense and had 416 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Plus, former four-star prospect Chase Loftin is someone that the Seminoles' coaching staff viewed as highly regarded in high school. Head football coach Mike Norvell mentioned that he was a top target regardless of position on their board.

I know that the tight end position is something that the fan base dismisses because it isn't a quarterback, running back, or wide receiver, but position coach Chris Thomsen has a great group of players to build around and work with.
