SPEED ON TOP OF SPEED
There isn't a lack of speed on this roster. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Micahi Danzy has had nine touches for 300 yards this season (that is insane). His lightning-fast speed is something that fans cannot stop raving about.
The offense as a whole has been spreading the football around, where the Seminoles have seven players with over 85 rushing yards and six players with over 50 receiving yards.
It is difficult not to get excited about Florida State football and what it could do in upcoming games against the likes of Miami, Clemson, and Florida. However, the Seminoles have to take it one step at a time.
JAYLIN LUCAS
This isn't a topic I want to bring up regarding PTSD for the Seminole fan base, but Florida State football had a disappointing 2024 campaign with a 2-10 record. The program's fan base knew that it might be an exhausting season after the season-opening loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland.
One of the biggest takeaways in the post-game press conference was that head football coach Mike Norvell was asked about why he didn't use running back Jaylin Lucas more often. He seemed to be someone who had the explosiveness that the squad could've needed.
Coach Norvell told the media that Lucas was going to be used in the following game of the 2024 season against Boston College. However, the speedster suffered a season-ending injury versus the Eagles.
The former Indiana transfer had a coming-out party against the Crimson Tide, where he recorded 22 rushing yards and 66 receiving yards. However, Lucas only had 28 total yards against East Texas A&M and 44 versus Kent State.
Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn seems to feed all sorts of pass catchers in the offense. The Virginia Cavaliers might not know what is coming this Friday night against Florida State.
