FSU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP

Florida State football is continuing its fall camp practices as it prepares for the season opener versus Alabama on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST in Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles are looking to put last year in the rearview mirror.

Florida State had pads on for its Friday fall camp practice. This often separates the men from the boys. I recently highlighted three veterans that I wanted to see show up in the fall camp practice today. This is a spot where running backs, wide receivers, and defensive backs show off their speed.

Head football coach Mike Norvell spoke to the media after practice, highlighting the emergence of redshirt freshman wide receiver Elijah Moore. He noted that the youngster has made productive plays in three consecutive days.

This is an important development to see Moore grow into his own within the wide receiver room. The Seminoles brought in transfers Duce Robinson, Squirrel White, and Gavin Blackwell, who are frequently discussed by the fan base.

Plus, true freshman wide receiver Jayvan Boggs is being regarded as a dude by several players in fall camp thus far. It is exciting to see the wide receiver position look like a productive unit after the abysmal campaign that the offense had in 2024, where it scored 15.3 points per game.

Moore was a former four-star prospect who many individuals thought would emerge as a playmaker last season. The thought process behind it was that the 6'4" target could be someone who could high point the football and become a reliable target when the offense needed him the most.

However, it seems like the Maryland native took a bit more time getting acclimated to the collegiate game after enrolling at Florida State in the summer. He looks like he could take a jump in 2025.
