FSU FOOTBALL IS ON FIRE
Florida State football is on a hot streak right now as the Seminoles have secured victories over Alabama and East Texas A&M. The doubters, such as Greg McElroy and Paul Finebaum, have been proven wrong so far.
However, we know the dangers all too well as the Seminoles tried to prove everyone wrong in 2024 and fell flat on their face. However, this looks to be a Florida State team that looks to be motivated and determined to get these things going in the right direction.
There is a simple answer as to why the Seminoles improved, and that is because their offense is light-years ahead of where it was last year. The offense scored 31 points versus Alabama and 77 points against East Texas A&M.
THE BEAUTY OF THE OFFENSE
I know that the talk will be around quarterback Thomas Castellanos, which is for good reason. He is a perfect signal-caller to have in offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's scheme. They were previously together with the UCF Knights, but it has gone as perfectly as you could get.
Quarterback Thomas Castellanos has been amazing through two games, but he can only be as good if he has a strong, supportive offensive line and weapons to throw the football to. Offensive line coach Herb Herb has his unit playing in another stratosphere with how effective they have been.
However, it is the playmakers that I am so impressed with. One piece that has been making me proud is redshirt freshman wide receiver Micahi Danzy. The Tallahassee didn't play much last season, other than the two routes, but the coaching staff decided to switch him from running back to wide receiver.
With that said, I think he has found a home in carrying the football because Danzy is the Seminoles' leading rusher with four carries for 109 yards and two touchdowns. It seems like every time he touches the football, it is a house call to the end zone.
I believe the end round runs with Danzy to get the opposing defense going from sideline to sideline could open up the running game with quarterback Thomas Castellanos, who we have already seen could be a weapon with his legs. The former UCF and Boston College transfer has 20 carries for 85 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
That number could skyrocket if they fake the end around with Danzy and keep it Castellanos.
