Well, this gives fans PTSD.

STATE OF FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football is in a world of trouble right now, as they are on a four-game losing streak. This has made the fan base very angry, where the season-opening victory over Alabama in late August doesn't matter anymore.

Head football coach Mike Norvell is essentially a dead man walking by most individuals after his squad went 2-10 in 2024, and is now 3-4 in 2025. The turnaround was supposed to happen, but instead they are 1-11 in their last 12 ACC games.

Some point to the contract extension that Coach Norvell received in 2023 to be the start of the decline, as the Alabama Crimson Tide were calling after legendary coach Nick Saban retired.

LINK JARRETT IS NEXT

Florida State announced on Thursday afternoon that its baseball coach, Link Jarrett, has agreed to a contract extension. The revised contract was one that keeps him in Tallahassee.

There was concern to get this contract done, as the Tennessee Volunteers were likely calling with their head baseball coach Tony Vitello taking the job with the San Francisco Giants.

I was surprised that Director of Athletics Michael Alford made the decision to extend the contract, especially given how the contract panned out the last time that they did it with Mike Norvell.

However, this brings the idea that Alford will have to make an important decision in a few months with a coaching decision for the football program so he probably doesn't want to have to deal with two coaching changes when the university could be low on cash. Overall, this was a situation that feels like déjà vu. Hopefully, the Seminoles' baseball program will continue to have success under Jarrett.
