FSU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP

Florida State football continued its fall camp practices on Monday afternoon as the Seminoles are twenty-six days away from their season opener versus the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC.

The Seminoles want to see progress from the squad after its 2-10 disaster in 2024. The fan base is in a "wait and see" mode after the program disappointed individuals beyond comprehension.

Nonetheless, this is a squad that is motivated to make a change. Head football coach Mike Norvell spoke with the media after Monday's practice and stated that the Seminoles' offense probably had its best practice since the beginning of spring.

OFFENSE TURNING A CORNER?

Florida State football's offense was a major factor in the program underperforming. It is unfortunate since the Seminoles were a team that had high expectations after their 13-1 record in 2023.

This offseason has been dominated by the defense, where there were offensive players stepping up, such as Duce Robinson, Squirrel White, Jayvan Boggs, and Elijah Moore, but defensive coordinator Tony White's unit was taking center stage.

The Seminoles were expected to be much better on the offensive side of the football. They had a dual-threat quarterback with capable backs, a talented group of playmakers, and a veteran offensive line that could find success. Plus, having an experienced coach in Gus Malzahn who is guiding the offense is helpful, too.

I know that it is just one practice that Coach Norvell alluded to the offense having a good day, but the unit has to begin stacking memorable performances together to ensure consistency of excellence. That should be the standard at Florida State. While I know that Norvell raved about the offense last year, it just feels like this unit could make something happen this year (I hope that I don't drink too much of the Kool-Aid).
