FSU FOOTBALL NEXT GAME
Florida State football lost to Stanford on the road this past weekend by a score of 20-13. The Seminoles' fan base has lost hope in head football coach Mike Norvell's ability to weather the storm.
The 2-10 record in 2024 has horrible to go through for everyone involved. This is a proud Florida State football program that is used to competing for conference and national championships. The Seminoles want to get back on track.
This was not something that individuals thought would happen after the Alabama season opener, where the Seminoles made talented signal-caller Ty Simpson look human, as Simpson is considered a top draft pick and a potential Heisman winner.
SHOULD WE WORRY ABOUT WAKE FOREST?
Florida State has a bye this week, but the Seminoles will have to put their attention to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. They will play them on Saturday, November 1st at 7:30 PM EST in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
This isn't to say that this Wake Forest squad is the best in the conference, but Florida State is 1-11 in their last 12 ACC games and this contest shouldn't be taken lightly. This is likely a situation where we see the fans boo Mike Norvell (I will never boo someone that represents the Garnet and Gold).
However, that is the choice that the administration made when they told everyone that the Seminoles would remain committed to Coach Norvell and the Seminoles for the rest of the season and make a comprehensive assessment when the time comes.
Nonetheless, they have a talented team coming to Tallahassee, as Wake Forest defeated the SMU Mustangs at home this Saturday by a score of 13-12. The Demon Deacons won on a 50-yard game-winning field goal. Running back Demond Claiborne is someone that the defense has to watch, as he recorded 23 carries for 73 yards.
This win by Wake Forest broke SMU's 20-game conference winning streak (in regular season play). This doesn't do any favors for the Seminoles that desperately need a victory. Hopefully, Florida State will know what is at stake and the team that the Demon Deacons have don't underestimate them.
