Florida State's men's basketball team is sitting there with a 11-4 record (2-2 in conference). The Seminoles are fresh off of their victory versus arch-rival Miami Hurricanes by a score of 80-65.
Forward Malique Ewin continues his dominance, where he has recorded at least 15 points in three of his last four games. However, their leading scorer (forward Jamir Watkins) only had ten points. We expect him to take a big step forward in a game that Florida State needs to win.
The Seminoles have been successful in shooting from three-point range in their last game where they shot 41.7%. They need that to continue in their next matchup.
It won't be any easier as Florida State takes on the Clemson Tigers on the road at 2:00 PM EST on the ACC Network. The Tigers have a 12-4 overall record (3-1 in conference), but are coming off a 74-64 loss to Louisville on the road.
Clemson was not able to stop Louisville guard J'Vonne Hadley, as he had 32 points on 10/12 shooting with 10 rebounds. The Cardinals were able to get to the free throw with ease as they went 16/20 at the charity stripe. Maybe this could be the game that Jamir Watkins needs to get him back on track.
Nonetheless, if the Seminoles want to make it to the NCAA Tournament, these are the types of games that they need to capitalize on. Florida State will be taking on 12-3 Pittsburgh at home on Wednesday after this contest, so the Seminoles have to keep their eyes on the prize and take it one game at a time.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Florida State basketball is a 7.5-point road underdog to Clemson.
