FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football just lost to Stanford this past weekend, and is in a downward spiral as they have lost four games in a row. This is not the expectations of a proud program that wants to compete for conference and national championships.
Either way, the Seminole fan base wants to find ways to distract themselves from what has transpired over the past two seasons. What better way to do that than to monitor former Florida State football players in the NFL?
Florida State has been a destination spot to get into the NFL. Even with the program's up-and-down seasons over the past ten years, it is still arguably a top-15 all-time program that has produced quality professional football players.
BRIAN BURNS
One player who has performed well this NFL season is former Florida State defensive end Brian Burns. The talented pass rusher plays for the New York Giants. Opposing offenses are having to prepare against his skill set.
It is known that the Giants have not been that good over the past couple of years (at least they aren't the New York Jets). However, players such as quarterback Jaxson Dart and Brian Burns are still bright spots that they build around.
Burns is doing so well that he is leading the league in sacks (9) and tackles for loss.
Superstar: Brian Burns is the NFL’s sack leader with 9.0 sacks and leads the league in TFLs with 12.

This should not be a shock to Seminole fans, after he was originally drafted to the Carolina Panthers with the 16th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Burns had 124 tackles (39.5 for loss) and 24 sacks during his three-year stint with Florida State.
He has also been an exceptional pro football player, where he has recorded 351 tackles (88 for loss), 126 quarterback hits, and 63.5 sacks in his seven years in the NFL so far. The highest sack total in his career was with the Carolina Panthers in 2022, when he had 12.5. He could have an outside shot to get close to 20 sacks (might be very unlikely), which would be incredible.
It is so great to see former Seminoles succeeding in the NFL.
