Florida State football finished with a 5-7 record during the 2025 season. The Seminoles lost seven of its last nine games to limp to the finish line. There are bigger things to worry about in Tallahassee than previous events.
However, it is noteworthy that the ACC Championship Game will feature Virginia and Duke tonight, which have high academic standards and are more known for basketball than football. That is the reality of where the conference is. Florida State should be disappointed in itself.
With that said, the conference continues to be a laughingstock, as they went to social media to hype up the 7-5 Duke Blue Devils saying that they should be in the 12-team College Football Playoff if they win the conference championship.

It is embarrassing that the conference is hyping up the Blue Devils. I know that Florida State football fans are fuming because where was this same energy when the Seminoles finished undefeated and won the conference, but got left out of the playoff for a one-loss Alabama team.
There were crickets. I get that the Seminoles sued the conference, and it benefits the ACC to promote elite lacrosse and basketball programs instead of the football programs that carry everything with revenue.
This isn't surprising, but Florida State football was phenomenal during the 2023 season, with NFL talent all over the roster. The significant injury to quarterback Jordan Travis was thought to be a factor in being left out. However, with Duke, other than quarterback Darian Mensah, who do they have on their roster that is noteworthy?
Florida State football fans deserve to be upset, but the Seminoles have to get back the standard after disappointing in 2024 and 2025. They need to put their head back and work this offseason.
