FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Florida State football is "cool" again as they defeated Alabama and East Texas A&M. Individuals across the college football landscape are giving the Seminoles credit for doing the "impossible", according to some ESPN analysts.
Recruits across the country are starting to take notice of the improvement that Florida State is having. They have already matched their win total from 2024 in just the third week of the season.
Florida State is having success on the recruiting trail, where the Seminoles rank as the thirteenth-best recruiting class. The program was red-hot in the high school ranks in the summer, but it seemed to cool off as the season began.
OUTLOOK ON THE SEMINOLES' CLASS
The Seminoles have playmakers all over the field in their 2026 class for quarterback Jaden O'Neal to operate in offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's system. However, the need for offensive and defensive trenches is needed if Florida State wants to continue the aggression and physicality.
The majority of the 2026 cycle is already committed to a school. However, this means that the Seminoles will have to put their recruiting hats on.
Two prospects that I believe Florida State has a solid chance with are four-star defensive end Kamron Wilson and three-star offensive tackle Javeion Cooper, who are both committed to the Syracuse Orange.
The Orange are coming off an overtime win versus UConn by a score of 27-20. Wilson was potentially committing to Florida State this past offseason, but elected to pledge to head football coach Fran Brown over Mike Norvell. Syracuse is looking to take a step back in 2025, so the Seminoles can slide in and secure the prospects from the state of Florida.
The good news is that the pass rusher is expected to be visiting the Seminoles for the contest against the Miami Hurricanes. As for Cooper, Herb Hand needs true offensive tackles in this recruiting class.
This is a perfect opportunity for Florida State to load up in the trenches. It's time for the staff to get to work!
