We wrote in early July that if FSU couldn’t win eight games on this 2025 schedule, it would be a huge problem. We knew FSU was a huge underdog in the season opener against Alabama, but felt they should win the next three. Miami is almost always overrated, so there’s that. Clemson and Alabama were the only games that we felt were likely absolute losses.
Well, FSU knocked off Alabama fairly easily, and Clemson doesn’t look like the team we thought they were through two games. FSU doesn’t play them until later in the year, so they have some time to figure things out, but it’s a road game at Clemson.
As we look at the 2025 schedule and results from games through two weeks, this schedule might be even easier than we thought. Virginia looks better than we thought, but they don’t really scare me. Pittsburgh doesn’t scare me. Wake Forest, Stanford, and Virginia Tech definitely don’t scare me. NC State will likely be beat up by the time FSU rolls to Carter-Finley Stadium. Florida will likely take several losses and could be without a head coach by then.
FSU has a good shot at two things. They should win 10 games and win the ACC. The over/under for wins at FanDuel is 9.5 at +124. If you bet $100 on FSU to win 10 games, you’d win $124. A $250 wager would net $310.
Their odds to win the ACC are +650. If you bet $100 at those odds, you’d win $650. A $250 wager would net $1,625. FSU could split the games between Miami and Clemson and still likely play in the ACC Championship.
Anything can happen with these future bets, injuries to key players, etc. However, if FSU can stay healthy, a wager on one of these might be worth it. I normally stay away from parlays, but a $100 parlay on these two bets would net $650.15. Make sure you gamble responsibly!
