FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football will play the Alabama Crimson Tide in the season opener on Saturday, August 30th, at 3:30 PM EST in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium.

The Seminoles will be looking to put their best foot forward as they look to rebound from the 2-10 record in 2024. The coaching staff doesn't look to be playing around as head football coach Mike Norvell alluded to the fact that it doesn't matter that the veteran played extensively in their career, if they don't perform and show up in practice, then they won't play.

That is a completely different mindset from years past, as Coach Norvell is now the CEO of the program instead of trying to combine offensive playcalling duties and managing the whole team. He can look at the full picture.

I am excited about the roster for the football squad this year. Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. met with the media on Thursday afternoon to discuss three players on the roster who could make a difference during the 2025 season in the secondary.
