FSU FOOTBALL SUCCESS
Is the college football landscape falling in love with the Florida State Seminoles? It sure seems like it, as the recent AP poll shows support for the program. Florida State did not even play a game this week as they welcome Kent State into town next Saturday at 3:30 PM EST.
The AP Poll had the Seminoles rated as the seventh-best team in the country. I know that individuals are excited after they defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide, but the games that will define their season are coming up as they get ready for Virginia and Miami.
Fans have to feel better about the odds of making it to the College Football Playoff, as the Clemson Tigers were once seen as a squad that could make it difficult for the Seminoles, as they play them on the road in November. However, with a loss to Georgia Tech, Dabo Swinney has his squad trending in a negative direction.
AP POLL ANALYSIS
It is great to have Florida State at the seven spot, but there is a surprising development that they had the Seminoles move up three places in the ranking. The program did not play anyone last week, so there wasn't a point in the AP Poll.
ESPN will likely try to promote the Florida State-Miami rivalry, since both could have a chance to be top-five teams. This would be great to see Doak Campbell Stadium rocking for a second time this season.
Even though the AP Poll wasn't what was envisioned to happen, it is promising to see Florida State get the respect that they deserve.
