FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State enters a pivotal road contest against the Virginia Cavaliers this Friday at 7 PM EST on ESPN. The Seminoles are looking to continue their winning ways as the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes will come to town next Saturday.
This cannot turn into a situation where they take this game against the Cavaliers for granted. The Virginia fan base is excited about the opportunity to take on the ranked Seminoles.
Quarterback Chandler Morris is someone who individuals have concerns about with his ability to extend plays outside the pocket. This could be worrisome for a unique Friday night game. It
VIRGINIA HYPE
Virginia made headlines earlier in the week as they premiered their uniforms from when they beat the Florida State Seminoles in 1995 by a score of 33-28. This marked the first conference loss for the program that seemed to be dominant.
If the contest had instant replay back then, the Seminoles would've likely won. However, the past is in the past, and Virginia will be ready for the challenge of bringing top-opponent Florida State into Charlottesville, Virginia.
To be honest, this feels like a game that is getting overvalued by many in the fan base. The Cavaliers have defeated the likes of Coastal Carolina, William & Mary, and Stanford this season. This isn't a direct shot at those universities, but Virginia's wins don't compare to Florida State's season-opening win over Alabama.
Fans don't think about the fact that North Carolina State got everything that they wanted offensively against Virginia's defense, especially with the running game with back Hollywood Smothers. He finished with 17 carries for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
DraftKings Sportsbooks has the Seminoles listed as seven-point favorites on the road, and I believe that it should be so much more with the Cavaliers' inability to stop the run, since Florida State ranks 1st in the FBS with 363 rushing yards per game.
