The Noles could get a talented veteran offensive lineman in the portal soon

This is good news for Florida State football in the transfer portal.

Florida State's offensive line was much improved during the 2025 season under first-year assistant coach Herb Hand. The Seminoles added four experienced transfers in the portal as starters, and it looked like they wanted to stabilize the floor of the room.

With the departures, Florida State will look to have more magic in the portal. The good news is that youngsters such as Sandman Thompson, Andre Otto, and Jonathan Daniels should be contributors in the rotation for 2026.

Coach Hand finally has some momentum as the transfer portal window opens. Louisiana offensive tackle transfer Bryant Williams plans to visit Florida State this weekend.

Noles247's Zach Blostein has already put in a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Seminoles for Williams, and this could be a process that moves very quickly.

The 6'7" and 335-pound offensive lineman has one year of eligibility remaining. He started eleven games at left tackle, and allowed ten pressures and didn't give up a single sack in 719 sacks. This is exactly the type of production that the Seminoles need on their offensive line.

The fan base doesn't know what will happen at the quarterback position at this point. Could this rely on youngster Kevin Sperry or turn to a transfer yet again?

With either direction that they go, the signal-caller will need to have protection from their offensive line, given that the Seminoles will have to play the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Miami, and Florida in 2026.

Florida State has been active with running backs and tight ends in the transfer portal at various times, but the more pressing needs involve acquiring offensive and defensive players in the trenches. As we see with arch-rival Miami, they prioritized the line of scrimmage and are being successful in the College Football Playoff.

Nonetheless, I believe that head football coach Mike Norvell can get some highly-touted players in the portal that can make the Seminoles productive in the trenches.
