FSU 2025 RECRUITING CLASS
Florida State football has been known to acquire a ton of transfers to overhaul the roster and change the program in a positive direction, but the Seminoles went in a different direction this offseason as they acquired many highly-touted prospects in their 2025 recruiting class.
Florida State went out and picked up six new coaches to its staff, which helped the recruiting efforts and sold a new vision. The Seminoles finished with the 19th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, which is not the standard at Florida State, but it had pivotal pieces that are helping the program today.
As it stands, contributors such as Kevin Sperry, Ousmane Kromah, Jayvan Boggs, Chase Loftin, Kevin Wynn, Mandrell Desir, and Darryll Desir are continuing to be discussed amongst the fan base. However, one other name could be emerging as someone to watch later in the season.
SHAMAR ARNOUX
The defensive backfield has not been ideal for the Seminoles this season under the guidance of assistant coaches Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper. The Alabama Crimson Tide struggled with the unit's physicality, but in each game since then, they have progressively been worse.
Even though the offense let them down against Miami, the defensive backs allowed multiple completions of 40+ yards to the Hurricanes. This has prompted the Seminoles to try something different by moving true freshman Shamar Arnoux to safety.

Personally, I am a fan of Edwin Joseph's skill set as a defensive back, but he struggled at times this season, which could have prompted the move to safety for Arnoux. The former four-star prospect was previously committed to the Auburn Tigers before the Seminoles' coaching staff came in and flipped him during the Early Signing Period.
Arnoux is listed at 6'2" and 189 pounds on the Seminoles' official roster, which is an ideal frame for someone who wants to play the safety position in Tony White's defense. Hopefully, the position change could be beneficial for both parties as Florida State looks to get back in the win column this Saturday against Pittsburgh.
