The 2024 college football season has officially ended with the Ohio State Buckeyes hoisting the College Football Playoff National Championship over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Even though Seminole fans were not invested in the contest, seeing the season finally close is great.
Florida State finished the 2024 campaign with a 2-10 record. Head football coach Mike Norvell was embarrassed with how everything transpired. Norvell understood that this was not the standard at Florida State and knew that major changes were needed.
The fan base had been ready for the year to end after the second game of the season versus Boston College. Quarterback Thomas Castellanos made light work of the Seminoles on the road in Doak Campbell Stadium.
It all comes full circle though as Castellanos is now on the Seminoles' roster for 2025. The offseason is a time to reflect. However, it is important time to look back at everything from last year and ensure that it never happens again.
Unfortunately, Florida State will not have the Spring Showcase in April due to the renovations to Doak Campbell Stadium that will be completed in August 2025.
This is a bummer for the fan base as they will have to wait several months to know how the squad will look with all of the new pieces and coaching staff on the team. Nonetheless, it won't get any easier for the Seminoles as they take on the Alabama Crimson Tide at home on August 30th.
Buckle up, it will certainly be a long offseason. Don't be too upset though as we at ChopChat got you covered with everything Florida State athletics!
