FSU FOOTBALL STATUS

Florida State football is in a world of trouble after losing to Stanford by a score of 20-13. This is the fourth straight loss by the Seminoles in a season that had so much promise after beating Alabama in the season opener.

The Seminoles are looking to get back on the right track, as the program welcomes in Wake Forest to Doak Campbell Stadium this Saturday at 7:30 PM EST on the ACC Network.

This is a fan base that could be booing head football coach Mike Norvell on Saturday. I never endorse booing a coach because it is a bad look. I would rather support the program through the good and bad times. Nonetheless, this is a team that is not living up to the standard.

NORVELL OUT?

As Florida State keeps losing and possess the 5-15 record over the past 20 games, the Seminole faithful want Coach Norvell fired. However, the administration has gone against the fan base's wishes as they expressed that they are fully supportive to help him and the 2025 Seminoles get better.

This is a situation where I wonder if the damage is already done in Tallahassee after the 2-10 record last year. However, there are several teams across the country that could be looking for new voices. We already know Florida will be searching for one, Auburn might have escaped that territory for a week after beating Arkansas, but now LSU might have entered the conversation.

The Tigers lost to Texas A&M on Saturday night at home by a score of 49-25. To make matters worse, they were up at halftime by a score of 18-14. However, the Aggies dominated the second half and made a packed house in Death Valley to go home early.

The vacancies could start to pile as we approach the end of the season. This is a reason that I feel like Florida State wants to find a way to keep Norvell, especially if he gets to the 7/8 win mark. Plus, the 2026 schedule doesn't do any favors for the Seminoles, as they play Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, Clemson, Florida, North Carolina State, Louisville, SMU, Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Boston College.

How many realistic "slam dunk" coaches does the administration think that the program could get? This is the hopeful thought that Coach Norvell can find a way to turn this around, and get his Florida State Seminoles back on the right track.
