The 2025 football recruiting class should be a special group for the Seminoles

I am excited for the youngsters with the Seminoles.

RECRUITS OVER TRANSFERS?

Individuals thought that head football coach Mike Norvell had an over-reliance on transfers over recruits in the high school ranks. This thought process didn't help anything as the Seminoles finished with a 2-10 record in 2024.

I know that it is difficult to see a team's roster littered with mercenaries instead of homegrown talent. However, Florida State made a productive 2025 recruiting class that seems to have made positive strides.

The class was collected in a short period of time as the Seminoles added six new coaches. Florida State had the 18th-best recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. While I know that the standard should be a top-ten haul, there are many talented prospects on the roster.

FREE THE YOUNGSTERS

Florida State has released its projected depth chart for Saturday's matchup against East Texas A&M. One of the more encouraging aspects is that true freshmen such as Kevin Sperry, Ousmane Kromah, Chase Loftin, Chavez Thompson, Darryll Desir, Mandrell Desir, Shamar Arnoux, and Brunno Reus are included.

The fact of the matter is that Coach Norvell is no longer relying solely on transfers to do the heavy lifting. He wants the players out on the field who help him win football games.

This is an exciting sight to see because we haven't even seen four of the top five recruits in the class yet, such as defensive tackle Kevin Wynn, defensive end L A Jessie Harrold, cornerback Zae Thomas, and offensive lineman Mario Nash Jr.

Given that Florida State plays East Texas A&M and Kent State in its next two contests, this could mean that the Seminoles are in line to play many of those talented true freshmen. I cannot wait to see how the youngsters perform with more reps.
