Florida State football has not been the same over the last couple of years, as the Seminoles have had six losing seasons in eight years. The program has not made two College Football Playoffs since its start in 2014. While I understand that 2023 was a travesty to the sport, Florida State has had its fair of chances to be successful.
Head coach Mike Norvell is leading his Seminoles into another offseason, where they are fresh off a losing season. The year looked so promising when Florida State defeated Alabama in the opener, but the postseason hopes crumbled in front of our eyes as they lost seven of their last nine games.
Coach Norvell is looking to return to a model of consistency that former head coaches Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher established, where they won a combined three national championships for the Garnet and Gold.
It is a constant reminder that former head coach Bobby Bowden is the reason why this university's football program is even relevant today. This is the place that Coach Bowden built.
Tallahassee International Airport honors the legendary head football coach Bobby Bowden
It was a sad day in Tallahassee when the legendary head coach Bobby Bowden passed away on August 8, 2021, at the age of 91. It still doesn't seem real, as Coach Bowden was an incredible representation of this university.
Bowden set the school's record books on fire with his success of having 316 wins during his 34 seasons at Florida State. Even though his time with the Seminoles in 2009 came to a bitter end, the Birmingham, Alabama, native was still and will always be beloved by this fan base.
You cannot think of Florida State University and not mention Bobby Bowden.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis included Bobby Bowden's name in the renaming of Tallahassee International Airport on Tuesday afternoon. This was a great gesture to the Bowden family, and it speaks volumes to what he meant to the city of Tallahassee.
The legend of Bobby Bowden lives on.
