Florida State has its next game versus Charleston Southern. We already highlighted the fact that the Seminoles are heavily favored in the game. The Buccaneers are one of the worst FCS schools ,where they have a 1-10 record.
As embarrassing as it sounds, Florida State's offense has only generated 21 points once this year in their season-opening loss to Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland. The Charleston Southern offensive unit has scored 21+ points in three of its ten games.
Much of the fan base, including myself, wants this year to end quickly. Before we get to that point, Charleston Southern and arch-rival Florida await the Seminoles. Florida State fans have been through it with Jordan Travis's injury, being left out of the playoffs, the blowout bowl loss to Georgia, missing out on quarterback transfer Cam Ward, and now the disappointment of the 2024 season.
Rock bottom was originally thought to be when FCS opponent Jacksonville State defeated the Seminoles in 2021 at Doak Campbell Stadium on the final play of the game. The "Fire Mike Norvell" Twitter space was in full effect.
College football is insane, and anything can happen. However, fast forward to the 2024 season, the Buccaneers are a very bad team. If Florida State loses by a huge underdog, Charleston Southern, this operation deserves to be blown up if they find a way to make that happen.
I have been on record that I fully support head football coach Mike Norvell and his vision for the program. It takes a lot for me to be negative about the Seminoles. However, a loss to Charleston Southern would be too difficult to navigate back from.
I don't want to bring this to light, but I hope that Florida State handles its business like they should as heavy favorites. Football gods, if you are listening, I need the Seminoles to get the job done.
