FSU FOOTBALL VS VIRGINIA

Florida State football will be playing the Virginia Cavaliers on Friday at 7 PM EST on ESPN. The Seminoles know that this is a pivotal ACC opening matchup on the road.

The dangers of this contest include that it is a treacherous spot to be in on an awkward short week, a road trip on a Friday night, and a look-ahead spot to play the arch-rival Miami. Plus, the fan base is worried about the play of Virginia senior quarterback Chandler Morris.

QB CHANDLER MORRIS

The general college football population has discussed the likes of signal-callers in the ACC, such as Thomas Castellanos, Carson Beck, Haynes King, CJ Bailey, Cade Klubnik (gosh, Clemson sucks this year), Miller Moss, Kevin Jennings, Darian Mensah, Eli Holistein, and others.

Quarterback Chandler Morris from the Virginia Cavaliers was not someone that is hyped up by individuals. Virginia could be a bowl team in 2025 with contests remaining against Washington State, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech.

Morris completed 85 of his 120 passes for 1,050 yards and eight touchdowns with one interception this year through four games. The veteran has been around college football, where he has had stints at Oklahoma, TCU, and North Texas.

The Cavaliers defeated Stanford by a score of 48-20 on Saturday, where Morris had 380 passing yards and four touchdowns. The quarterback had eight passes of 20+ yards against the Cardinal. This is concerning if the Seminoles had defensive breakdowns like they did on the 75-yard touchdown on Saturday by Kent State.

Morris likes to extend the plays in the pocket. This is where the defensive line has to step up and make him feel uncomfortable. It doesn't help that he has been in college football for six years, but this should be an easier challenge if the Seminoles' offense puts pressure on Virginia to score.
