Should FSU football fans be worried about Miami transfer quarterback Carson Beck?

Miami football fans are unbearable...

Florida State football finished with a 2-10 record in 2024. That is a disappointing result for the Seminoles since both arch-rivals Miami and Florida defeated the program.

Florida State isn't Ohio State where they only care about beating their arch-rival Michigan. Head football coach Mike Norvell is entering a pivotal seventh season at the helm, where the fan base wants to see him succeed at a high level.

Florida quarterback DJ Lagway is at the top of many analyst's lists. While he did not have much production last season, Lagway was a former five-star prospect who seems to be just scratching the surface as a productive player.

Miami had their fun last year with superstar quarterback Cam Ward. They still didn't win the ACC, and to make matters worse, they didn't even win their bowl game.

The Hurricanes are attempting to have another "We are Back!" year as they added former Georgia quarterback transfer Carson Beck. The caveat to the situation is that Beck had elbow surgery this offseason so it remained a question mark for when he would return to throwing a football.

According to a report from 247Sports' Brandon Marcello, Miami quarterback Carson Beck will begin throwing footballs on Monday. Should Seminole fans be worried about the update from Marcello?

The answer is no.

It feels like every year Miami has a hype train that makes you feel like it will be different from the last. They start well, just to crumble under the pressure at the end of the year. That has been the trend for the entire tenure of Hurricanes' head football coach Mario Cristobal.

Beck struggled at times for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2024 where he had 3,485 passing yards and 28 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. He had three games last year against Alabama, Florida, and Texas where he recorded three interceptions in each game.

Florida State has a transfer quarterback that I feel confident in with veteran Thomas Castellanos reuniting with offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn in a power-run offensive scheme. It isn't flashy, but it gets the job done.

The next thing we know the Miami football social media page will feature a five-second video of Beck throwing a football and it will hold that fan base over the entire offseason where they consistently tell elite lies.

Miami has to play Notre Dame and Florida in two of their first four games. Then, they will play Florida State on the road in their fifth game. They have a shot to be 2-3 through five contests, and it could enough to send that fan base into a downward spiral.
