Should Florida State football be following this blueprint by the former quarterback?

Could be this be the strategy?

FSU FOOTBALL STRUGGLES

This is a situation where I thought that we would be talking about an 3-4 football team (0-4 in the ACC) after defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide in the opener. The August 30th matchup versus Alabama seemed like ages ago, and is a throne in their side on their resume.

With the loss to Stanford, there were rumblings that head football coach Mike Norvell could be fired from Florida State. Individuals were vocal about their displeasure of him having a 36-31 record through six years with the university.

These last eight years have been a roller coaster ride, filled with SIX losing seasons. That is not the standard at Florida State. This isn't a situation where I believe that Coach Norvell doesn't care about Florida State. It seems like he wants what's best for the Seminoles. However, this is a situation where it could be difficult for the program to get over the hump.

JORDAN TRAVIS

Unfortunately, the last time that the Seminoles were in the national spotlight was 2023, where quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a gruesome injury and the program was snubbed from the College Football Playoff.

Travis made headlines a few weeks ago, where he mentions on his podcast "Travis Take Two" that recruiting is all about buying players these days. He goes on to mention that recruiting is all about the money.

His philosophy centers around surrounding head football coach Mike Norvell with more money to get the players that he needs for this roster to competitive. This isn't a debate whether I believe that Jordan Travis is right or wrong, because he is entitled to that opinion.

This is a situation where I know the fan base will say "Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Stanford have worse players than Florida State" and I won't disagree with that sentiment. However, if the Seminoles' administration doesn't want to cut ties with Norvell due to the $100 million price tag is too big, then it could probably be wise to surround him with dynamic playmakers (like a program such as Texas Tech).
