QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS IMPACT
The fan base was up in arms after Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos interviewed with On3's Pete Nakos, where he stated that Alabama couldn't stop him. Legendary coach Nick Saban couldn't save them.
This was a quote that individuals thought would be bulletin board material for the Crimson Tide to take advantage of, and as ESPN's Paul Finebaum said, make the game not competitive.
The legendary signal-caller has created custom t-shirts featuring the legendary quote and put the nation on notice that he is recognized as someone who could potentially win the Heisman Trophy.
FSU RECRUITING
When high school recruits see an offense that is scoring a ton of points and is successful on the gridiron, it makes them want to be in the Garnet and Gold. The Seminoles are currently listed as the 13th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite.
That still isn't where the fan base wants the program to be, but the winning ways could elevate Florida State if it continues. The Seminoles have a quarterback committed in four-star Jaden O'Neal, who is considered one of the most important spots to recruit at (as it has been evident this season).
However, Florida State is still in communication with five-star Keisean Henderson, who is currently committed to the Houston Cougars. This is understandable since he is from the Texas area, but Houston has been a powerhouse lately, and it was thought that Henderson would be a perfect fit in Malzahn's scheme (just like Castellanos was).
The Seminoles are fans of O'Neal's skill set. They wouldn't take his commitment if they weren't in favor of it. However, football is a sport of competitiveness. The position is vital to a team's success. Just look at how dual-threat quarterbacks Jordan Travis and Thomas Castellanos changed the trajectory of the program.
5⭐️ Houston commit QB Keisean Henderson put 653 TOTAL YARDS last Friday. 🤯🔥

• 30/38, 537 passing yards, 5 pass TDs
• 6 rushes, 116 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD

These are statistics that cannot be ignored. The Seminoles should continue to pursue Henderson. If both prospects get into Tallahassee, then that is great. Florida State having Kevin Sperry, Brock Glenn, Jaden O'Neal, and Keisean Henderson (and potentially Thomas Castellanos for a final year if he gets a waiver) in 2026 would be legendary.
