FSU FOOTBALL OUTCOME
Florida State football had a disappointing outing on Friday night as they lost by a score of 46-38 in double overtime to Virginia. This is a contest that the Seminoles couldn't afford. Granted, this wasn't comparable to the previous losses to Jacksonville State or even the road losses to North Carolina State, but there were opportunities for Florida State to win the football game.
Nonetheless, I don't want to make this doom and gloom after the loss because the Seminoles have their goals in front of them if they stay focused. One game doesn't define them, but it can snowball out of control if they let it.
There were many positives from Friday's game for Florida State. One player that should be highlighted is true freshman running back Ousmane Kromah.
OUSMANE KROMAH IS GIFTED
Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn revolves his offense around their ability to run the football. The Seminoles only added former Oklahoma transfer Gavin Sawchuk and former four-star prospect Ousmane Kromah to a Florida State offense that averaged 89.9 rushing yards per game last year.
Kromah was someone that the fan base was excited about, as he was picked up by the coaching staff after being heavily pursued by the Georgia Bulldogs and Auburn Tigers.
The Georgia native had powerful runs against the Cavaliers as he recorded 12 carries for 63 yards. Coming into the matchup, Kromah only had 16 attempts for 111 yards and zero touchdowns, so the volume doubled in Charlottesville.
This is an encouraging sign that the youngster is starting to build trust in being a focal point in the game plan. With the Seminoles having their rivalry matchup against Miami, the running back will need to be explosive to put points on the scoreboard.
