FSU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP
Florida State football will be taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles want to show the world that the 2-10 record from 2024 was an outlier.
The program is chomping at the bit to prove individuals wrong, but it has to be careful, as the Seminoles tried to do that last year after being snubbed from the College Football Playoff, and it did not pan out.
With that being said, we are inching closer and closer to the season as fall camp is in the thick of it.
LOADED RB ROOM
Florida State has a loaded running back position group after adding former Oklahoma transfer Gavin Sawchuk and former four-star prospect Ousmane Kromah this offseason. However, it is easy to forget that senior pieces, such as Roydell Williams and Caziah Holmes.
Williams has been mentioned by the coaching staff on occasion. However, Holmes has been quiet this offseason, which makes people wonder if he will perform at a high level in 2025. The former Penn State transfer has made his presence known in the limited opportunities throughout his career with Florida State
He has only recorded 44 carries for 269 yards and five touchdowns in two seasons with the Seminoles. I can be the first to tell you that Holmes is one of those players that steps up massively when he gets into the game.
Position coach David Johnson spoke with the media on Tuesday afternoon, where he mentioned that Holmes had a 70-yard touchdown reception in today's practice. If the veteran can be a piece that the coaching staff trusts, it could be a solid development for the position group.
