FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football won its game convincingly as it defeated Kent State by a score of 66-10 on Saturday afternoon. This was a time when Seminole fans did not have to doubt the outcome, as the program was leading 35-7 at the end of the first quarter.
The program has had two straight games, where we saw fans leave Doak Campbell Stadium early because it was a blowout. As a result, the Florida State faithful have gotten to watch the arch-rival Florida Gators get destroyed in front of our eyes.
FLORIDA IS A LAUGHINGSTOCK
The Florida Gators are now the laughingstock of college football. Quarterback DJ Lagway went out there on the road last week versus LSU and wet the bed with FIVE interceptions. It almost looked like he needed to be LensCrafters' new ambassador because it sure seemed like he needed a new pair of glasses for what he was seeing on the field.
Head football coach Billy Napier is hanging on to his job security by a thread. Napier was in the same boat last year, but a late-season winning streak allowed him to stay in Gainesville for the 2025 campaign.
It might not be too much longer before he is fired because the Florida Gators went into Hard Rock Stadium and played the Miami Hurricanes. Most Seminole fans wanted there to be a way for both programs to lose or revert to the NFL tie system.
Even though it would help the Seminoles' schedule in the long run and get College GameDay to campus by getting the Hurricanes to win, most individuals couldn't get themselves to cheer for putrid Miami.
The former five-star prospect and current Florida quarterback DJ Lagway didn't give the Gators a chance in the contest as he completed 12 of his 23 passes for 61 yards and was sacked four times as Miami won by a score of 26-7.
I already expressed that I wished Coach Napier would stick around at Florida because I want Mike Norvell to get his revenge from the flag-planting fiasco in last year's meeting in Tallahassee, but it is doubtful that it will come true, as the Gators' schedule will get harder and harder.
