FSU FOOTBALL FALL SCRIMMAGE
Florida State football will be back in action before we know it as they will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC.
This is a type of pressure that the fan base is expecting. Last year was horrible, and there is no way of escaping that. All we can do is move forward and learn from the mistakes.
A complete overhaul was needed on the recruiting ranks, transfer portal, and coaching staff. Head football coach Mike Norvell made it a priority to make sweeping changes to the entire operation. We saw what happened last season when the wrong players were inserted in the starting lineup.
QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS
Former UCF and Boston College quarterback transfer Thomas Castellanos was one of the bigger pieces for the Seminoles ' offense. He has received backlash from his former head football coach Bill O'Brien, after he scolded him for leaving the team before being benched for the season.
While I don't want to take anyone's side, O'Brien has had some rough patches with coaching other quarterbacks. Florida State football fans hope that Castellanos is better than last year's DJ Uiagalelei.
Norvell went to the podium in front of media members to discuss Castellanos's performance in the first scrimmage.
"I thought Tommy played well tonight. He had a couple of vertical shots that we were able to connect on. There were times when Tommy was able to extend plays and utilize his legs as well."
This is an encouraging quotation to see from Coach Norvell. Even though I realize that Norvell likes Castellanos, she still has to taper down expectations and tidbits to ensure that the Crimson Tide doesn't get much information before the season opener takes place.
