Florida State ranks as the sixth-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. However, the Seminoles are far from finished with acquiring talented. I recently conducted a Q&A with Class of 2026 three-star offensive tackle Courtney Heard from East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
Q: What was it like receiving the offer from Florida State over the summer?
A: "Receiving the offer made me feel good, especially coming from the head coach, because it let me know that he was interested in my game."
Q: Do you have any plans to visit Florida State in the spring? What are you looking forward to in the visit?
A: "Yes, I plan on taking an official visit. I mainly wanna see what they have to offer and keep the relationship with the coaches going."
Q: I noticed that you went to the Charleston Southern game, what was the experience like for you?
A: "Going to the game was a fun experience, getting to connect with the coaches since I haven't seen them since I attended camp in the summer."
Q: With the newly acquired coaching staff with the Seminoles, are you focusing on anything specifically in your recruitment?
A: "Right now, I'm focusing on building a relationship with the new coaches and getting them to recognize my talent."
Q: Do you have a decision timetable before you make the school choice? Or will you just take it day-by-day?
A: "As of right now, I'm just taking it day by day seeing what schools what to offer and who has the most interest in me."
