Will fans see the garnet end zones during the 2024 season for the Seminoles?
The dog days of summer are difficult to navigate through. However, fans can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the Seminoles facing off versus the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday, August 24th in Dublin, Ireland.
Head football coach Mike Norvell has emphasized quiet confidence about the construction of his Seminoles' squad for the 2024 season. That is high praise considering that Florida State accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023.
Everyone wants to discuss the players that are on the roster. While I believe that is extremely important, I want to talk about something that needs to be addressed.
That is end zone paint colors within the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. It seemed like last season, we had to deal with them not even bothering to paint the end zones. This made Doak Campbell Stadium feel a little bit bland.
This was somewhat confusing as to why they never made the effort to paint them after having garnet end zones in their neutral-site contest versus the LSU Tigers in the 2023 season opener. The Seminoles went on to plummet the Tigers by three touchdowns and sent a statement to the college football landscape (screw the SEC bias).
While I want the Seminoles to get back to painting the end zones again, I do not want to deal with the PTSD with the white end zones. The 2018 season opener versus the Virginia Tech Hokies in former head football coach Willie Taggart's coaching debut with the Seminoles was enough to turn me from the idea (Swag Surfing).
Overall, I believe that Florida State football gets back to their roots of including the garnet end zones while Doak Campbell Stadium is going through construction with their renovations that will not be completed until their 2025 season opener versus the Alabama Crimson Tide.
