Florida State football still has a veteran offensive line even after having interior offensive linemen Casey Roddick and D'Mitri Emmanuel exceed their eligibility. There are quality pieces in the unit such as Maurice Smith, Darius Washington, Jeremiah Byers, Keiondre Jones, and Robert Scott Jr.

As I previously mentioned in another article, they must feel really good about the offensive tackle position since they moved Julian Armella to guard. While the former four-star prospect played tackle and guard while in high school, quality offensive tackle Robert Scott Jr. has not been able to stay healthy as of late.

This makes me feel like do-it-all Darius Washington will be moving permanently to the offensive tackle spot. Washington has been a Swiss army knife for the Seminoles as he has taken snaps such as tackle, guard, and center.

I realize that Washington will do whatever it takes for this football team to win. However, I believe that offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins sees that he might need some proven depth at the offensive tackle position. The right tackle position seems to be locked up with Jeremiah Byers.

With the potential move to have Washington play left tackle, this opens the door for the program not to have to rely on Robert Scott Jr. to continue to stay healthy when his injury history isn't the greatest. The former three-star prospect has played a ton of snaps during his time in Tallahassee. Could the mileage of snaps be taking a toll on his body?

Nonetheless, Darius Washington is one of the best, if not the best, of the offensive lineman on the football team. It is time for the All-ACC caliber player to play the position that is most comfortable to him. This should be an offensive line that is one of the best in the conference.
