Who would be the top three players on the Seminoles' roster in College Football 25?

Florida State redshirt junior defensive end Patrick Payton was the first player to come to mind. As I alluded to in a previous article, he is the most important player on the defensive side of the football. Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller is going to benefit greatly from having his services.

During the 2023 season, the Miami (FL) native had a phenomenal campaign where he had 44 total tackles (14.5 for loss), 7 sacks, and 10 pass deflections. Even with the extremely talented Jared Verse on the opposite side, Payton was still able to make a difference on the field.

The former four-star prospect has now got his opportunity to make the most of his opportunities. Even with Florida State acquiring Georgia defensive end transfer Marvin Jones Jr., Payton should be able to take the next step forward in his development.

I could see Payton being a player who could be in the high 80s when it is all said and done. He is one of the surefire contributors who has a lot of collegiate experience.
