PASSING YARDS

While I understand that this could be a no-brainer with Florida State landing former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei in the transfer portal, the veteran signal caller has had his fair share of struggles during this time with the Beavers and even when he played for the Clemson Tigers.

Uiagalelei had a solid statistical campaign with the Beavers last season where he completed 180 of his 315 passes (57.1%) for 2,638 yards and 21 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions. The 57.1 completion percentage is a little bit worrisome. However, he was able to protect the football well and has a strong arm to be able to push downfield to his playmakers.

It would not be wise to discount the ability of freshman Brock Glenn who stepped into action for the ACC Championship Game matchup versus Louisville and in the Orange Bowl against Georgia. While Glenn struggled mightly against the Cardinals, he had some shining moments versus the Bulldogs even with limited weapons.

Overall, I think Uiagalelei has more passing yards this season and will get the starting nod as the coaching staff would want the veteran to bridge the gap and allow Kromenhoek and Glenn to develop where they compete for a starting job in 2025.

Pick: DJ Uiagalelei
