Who could be the next Seminole football player to be a first-round pick?

Florida State junior cornerback Azareye'h Thomas was a productive piece in the 2023 season. However, veterans such as Jarrian Jones and Renardo Green have moved on to the NFL. This gives the opportunity for the Niceville, Florida native to succeed in the defense.

Thomas recorded ten pass breakups last season, which was remarkable. Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has high expectations for his position unit. He will try to emphasize forcing turnovers.

It also helps that Thomas made the jersey number switch to No. 8 where former cornerback Jalen Ramsey succeeded in. The talented defensive back has been a problem during the entire spring where opposing wide receivers have not been able to create any separation.

He and senior Fentrell Cypress III should be the top two outside cornerbacks. Thomas should be able to showcase his skill set in contests versus Clemson, Miami, Florida, and Notre Dame during the 2024 season.
