Who are some underrated FSU players that need to be monitored for the future?
HYKEEM WILLIAMS
ChopChat readers must feel like this is strictly a wide receiver-based article. However, it certainly is not. It just speaks volumes about the position room that wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has. Most of these players just need an opportunity to shine.
There is no shortage of talent when discussing the type of player Hykeem Williams is. The former five-star prospect from 2023 recruiting cycle is still getting acclimated to the collegiate game. However, an ankle injury hindered his ability to play the majority of the season.
While that remained true, most members of the media were salivating over the play of former four-star prospect Vandrevius Jacobs with how he conducted himself in practice. There wasn't much mention of Hykeem Williams, who was the higher-rated prospect.
With that being said, Williams began to find his groove as the season progressed where he recorded 5 receptions for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. It is difficult to expect a true freshman to make a sizable difference early on. However, this could be the opportunity that Williams needs to be successful (if he stays healthy).
