Where will Doak Campbell Stadium rank in the toughest places to play in video game?
The EA Sports College Football video game series is FINALLY coming back. College football fans can rejoice as their favorite series will hit the shelves on July 19, 2024 (you can pre-order to get it three days early). I can barely contain my excitement for it to be released.
As for an update, the video game's official Twitter (X) account announced that it would be dropping its toughest places to play. The stadium atmosphere is one of the many things that makes college football great.
I cannot wait to turn on my gaming system or PC and witness Osceola and Renegade planting the spear at midfield in a packed-out Doak Campbell Stadium. Want to know how to send immediate chills down someone's back? That's it.
As I mentioned previously, Doak Campbell Stadium will be undergoing renovations that will not be completed until the Seminoles' season opener in 2025 versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. The stadium will have temporary seating in the meantime for the west side.
However, that should not impact the game as the trailer featured a packed-out Doak Campbell Stadium. At the very least, the Seminoles have a top-fifteen home environment in all of college football. I would argue that the top ten is more appropriate but I am quite biased.
With that being said, I know one team that won't be featured in the toughest places to play list. That would be Hard Rock Stadium down there in Coral Gables. The arch-rival Miami Hurricanes have consistently struggled to generate a reliable fan base that will show up for their home games.
The only time that the fans show up for the games is when Florida State football comes to town. You can make it a "buy one, get ten" and the Hurricane fans will still not show up to support their team. The Seminoles will be looking to make it four straight victories over Miami this season as Florida State looks to showcase its many newcomers.
