WIDE RECEIVER

Florida State had the luxury of having the services of veterans Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman during the 2023 season who had a combined 91 receptions for 1,275 yards and 13 touchdowns. However, both talented pieces have declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Seminoles have already added two wide receivers in the transfer portal with Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown. Benson only had 13 receptions for 162 yards and 1 touchdown for the Crimson Tide last season while Brown did not record a statistic for the Tigers

Fans will have to temper their expectations in this position room given that both of their top receivers from last season are gone. Plus, redshirt senior quarterback Jordan Travis will no longer be commanding the offense. However, that does not mean that they need to discount the ability of newly acquired DJ Uiagalelei. His strong arm can allow for the Seminoles to have some explosive plays downfield.

On the bright side, the Seminoles do have some talented pieces within the position room such as Hykeem Williams, Destyn Hill, Ja'Khi Douglas, and Kentron Poitier, among others. I cannot wait to see how wide receivers coach Ron Dugans continues to add talent to this group. It certainly would not be a bad thing to see the Seminoles bring in another veteran pass catcher.
