Florida State had Class of 2026 four-star quarterback Faizon Brandon from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina unofficially visit the Seminoles over the weekend for their Junior Day event.

There was a bit of discussion due to Brandon wearing a pullover that looked like he was wearing Georgia Bulldogs gear after a picture circulated with him and head football coach Mike Norvell in his office.

This was quite ironic considering that the Seminoles played the Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl where they were blown out in the contest by a score of 63-3. Could a recruit be as bold to wear an opposing team's gear on a visit to another school? I could envision a prospect do that if he were committed to the school that he was wearing.

To bring the level of concern down about the situation, Grimsley High School's logo is the capital "G" which closely resembles the Georgia Bulldogs. As a result, it is important to understand that Brandon was just wearing his high school gear on the visit.

As it relates to the talented signal-caller, he is considered the sixth-best quarterback prospect in the 2026 cycle. During the 2023 season, he completed 191 of 277 passes (69%) for 3,026 yards with 36 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also showcased his dual-threat ability by running for 528 yards and nine touchdowns.

Stats were compiled by his 247Sports recruiting profile.

Florida State already has two talented young quarterbacks on its roster with redshirt freshman Brock Glenn and true freshman Luke Kromenhoek. Plus, it has four-star prospect Tramell Jones Jr. committed to its 2025 cycle.

It would be great to see if the Seminoles could find a way to get the North Carolina native in the 2026 class. It would solidify the quarterback position for years to come.
