FOUR-STAR WR VERNELL BROWN III

Florida State football has its target board filled with numerous targets. One prospect to monitor is four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida. Brown III was a considered an Ohio State lean where he even had a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Buckeyes.

Seminole fans were nervous at the time given that their top two targets at the position in five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. and four-star Vernell Brown III were trending to Ohio State. However, as I always say, recruiting is ever-changing.

According to a report from On3's Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong, Florida State and Florida are now in the best position to land Brown III.

It is encouraging that Ohio State is slipping in the recruitment. The Buckeyes have a great track record of developing playmakers to the professional ranks. I still could not tell you why recruits are so in love with the Florida Gators. Their month of November could be difficult given the hard slate of games which could result in head football coach Billy Napier being fired.

It certainly helps that the Seminoles will get Brown III on an official visit during the weekend of June 21st. The program will get the last laugh heading into the fall where Florida State football should have a successful 2024 season.
