Updates on two of the Seminoles' recruiting targets deciding this week
S MAX REDMON
Florida State finally got its first defensive back commit recently with four-star cornerback Gregory "Zae" Thomas from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Thomas has been a target on the Seminoles' recruiting board for quite some time.
Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has been magnificent on the recruiting trail since being hired by the Seminoles. During the 2024 recruiting cycle, he secured four-star prospects such as Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III.
Even with the five-star KJ Bolden (sorry, I did not want to bring up PTSD) de-commitment, Surtain Sr. still has a firm foundation at the position for the Seminoles.
It is expected that the Seminoles will get three defensive backs in this cycle (at least). One prospect to watch out for is three-star safety Max Redmon from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Redmon will be deciding between Florida State, Illinois, and USF on July 9th. The talented defensive back officially visited the Seminoles on June 7th and has two crystal ball predictions in favor of Florida State. The speedy defensive back could be making his move to Tallahassee soon.
