The transfer portal period is where undergraduate players have the opportunity to enter and become part of a new team. That timeframe for that is ending tonight at midnight.

The Florida State Seminoles under the guidance of head football coach Mike Norvell has made a living off of securing talent via the transfer portal. During the offseason, they have secured highly-touted prospects from the portal such as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, defensive end Marvin Jones Jr., and cornerback Earl Little Jr.

However, as we saw in the spring, there are needs on the roster that still need to be addressed such as wide receiver, offensive tackle, defensive tackle, and linebacker. As it stands, the transfer period has been strangely quiet.

That has been out of the norm that Seminole fans have expected for head football coach Mike Norvell during his time in Tallahassee. Even Miami fans discuss the program's success in acquiring veteran talent.

The Hurricanes have had their recent success in the portal and want to boast about it on social media. However, Florida State fans should not listen to them since they have been irrelevant after they joined the conference.

The Seminoles have not had much transfer portal news lately. However, the coaching staff has locked in on an offer for a transfer that they like. Florida State has offered Grand Valley State defensive tackle transfer Jay'viar Suggs.

Suggs has two years of eligibility remaining. He recorded 21 total tackles (7.5 for loss) and five sacks during the 2023 season. The Seminoles are certainly looking for viable options on the interior of their defensive line. It will be interesting to see if they get Suggs on a visit.

It will be a tough task for defensive tackle coach Odell Haggins to replace the likes of ultra-talented Braden Fiske and Fabien Lovett Sr. who have moved on to the NFL. I trust the development by Haggins due to his longevity in the program and cannot wait to see who the Seminoles get in the position room.
