Three prospects to monitor for the Seminoles' official visitor weekend
THREE-STAR S MAX REDMON
Florida State defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has made his impact felt as a recruiter and a developer. However, Surtain Sr. will have to replace secondary pieces such as Renardo Green, Jarrian Jones, and Akeem Dent who have navigated to the NFL.
With that being said, the defensive backs coach secured highly-touted prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle such as Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III. Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller utilizes a 4-2-5 defensive scheme where it interchanges defensive backs to keep them fresh.
While I know that the program has not secured a defensive back prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle, they are in position to land highly-touted prospects such as four-star cornerback Gregory Xavier Thomas from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida.
However, another name that I would monitor is three-star safety Max Redmon from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. Redmon is a speedy prospect that covers a ton of space as a safety. He is a recruit that the coaching staff offered during a satellite camp.
Redmon has already received a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Seminoles. If his measurables check out then I could see him being a prospect that Florida State gets to commit after this weekend.
