This was pretty obvious that I had to mention the linebacker position as a group that should be prioritized the most in the 2025 recruiting cycle. This is not a shot at the current unit in the room. However, the proven depth is relatively thin.

The linebacker position for the Seminoles is not as important given that defensive coordinator Adam Fuller utilizes a 4-2-5 defensive scheme that prioritizes a heavier defensive back rotation. However, veterans Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune were vital pieces to the defense last season.

Unfortunately, both of them exceeded their eligibility. As a result, Florida State is having to rely upon players such as DJ Lundy, Omar Graham Jr., Blake Nichelson, Shawn Murphy, and Justin Cryer. However, other than Lundy, there is not a ton of experienced options.

While the Seminoles have four-star prospect Ethan Pritchard committed, linebacker coach Randy Shannon needs to get one or two more talented recruits. Some options to monitor would be five-star Zayden Walker, four-star Tavion Wallace, four-star Zaydarius Rainey-Sale, four-star Elijah Barnes, four-star Gavin Nix, and four-star Ty Jackson.
